Classic Car Day 2007

I thought I would arrive early but faithful Allen was already there at our site for the Classic Car Day and so was Howard and while Howard went to ferry another of his cars for the display Allen and I set up the tent to give us some shade.

A big thank you go to all who brought along a good cross section of Citroens as we had D's, Tractions, CX, XM, GS, 2CV, C4 and C2 - a very good turn out.

We were entertained by Alan Brown who showed a great interest and understanding of our club and members even though he lives in France.

We also met a man who was an engineer with Chrysler and we talked at length about the development of the early Valliants which was very interesting.

I had somebody who was interested in buying my brown CX but after all the work I have done and the fact I just love driving it I said a big 'NO"! Jeanie had a few interested in the D wagon and I hope for her sake that somebody will buy it soon

The day saw us use for the first time the information stands built by Ralph and printed by Ian and they looked very professional. Thank you Ralph and Ian.

Once again 'Auto One' who supported CMC worked hard to make this event successful. There were over 1,000 cars on display which truly is a spectacular sight.

Lastly I know it is a long day and was quite warm but those who made the effort enjoyed the company of one another - so please make it a promise to yourself to join in some of our events each year, you will be rewarded and have a lot of fun

Bob
